Oil spill workshop held at Concordia University

On May 29, 2019, a workshop entitled “Shorelines, Oil Spills and Response Options in Canada” was held at Concordia University. Drs. Edward Owens and Elliott Taylor provided an introduction to shoreline processes and the shoreline types of Canada, the character and behavior of spilled oil on shorelines, including the fate of oil through natural weathering and attenuation processes, and the shoreline response or treatment options that are available to accelerate the recovery of oiled shorelines.
