Dr. An recently led a special issue titled “Organic Contaminants in Oil Spills and Response” in Journal of Hazardous Materials: Organics. This Special Issue provides a focused platform for high-quality studies on oil spill organics, spanning fingerprinting and analytics, fate and transport, transformation products, ecotoxicological and human-health implications, treatment and remediation, and well-documented case studies and lessons learned across onshore, inland, coastal, and offshore settings. As a supporting journal of IOSSC 2026, the issue is expected to feature strong contributions from IOSSC 2026 presenters alongside the broader spill science and response community.
