On September 23-24, 2021, group members attended the Multi-Partner Oil Spill Research Initiative (MPRI) Student Research Forum 2021. Qi Feng, Rengyu Yue, Zhikun Chen, and Hiufang Bi made the presentations entitled “Investigation into the impact of aged microplastics on oil behavior in shoreline environments”, “A dual responsive nanoclay/sodium alginate surface washing agent for oiled shoreline cleanup”, “An inexact optimization model for oily waste management in shoreline spill response”, and “Investigation into the use of alginate hydrogel coating for combatting spilled and stranded oil in shoreline”, respectively. They also discussed the research and collaboration with other forum participants.
